DARE/Juvenile Info
The DARE/Juvenile Officer is responsible for investigating
crimes and incidents involving juveniles. The Juvenile Officer may follow
up investigations initiated by members of the patrol division, which include
crimes committed by juveniles, crimes against juveniles, abuse, neglect,
runaways and missing juveniles.
The Juvenile Officer is the Falmouth Police Department's liaison to the local
juvenile court system and is charged with presenting evidence, testifying in
court and following up on any pending court action involving juveniles.
The responsibilities of the DARE officer include the teaching of
"DARE" Drug Abuse Resistance Education, as well as being an advocate
and outreach member of the police department to young people in the
community. As an advocate, the DARE officer needs to take a personal
interest in the lives and well being of all the children living in Falmouth.
